Larch season is so fleeting – we pushed our trip to Cooney Lake back by two days due to a storm system sweeping through. It was definitely the right choice not to try to camp at 7300 feet in a snowstorm, but it also meant that we missed the display. This show with the barren snowy mountain behind captured the moment. Next year, always next year.
